I am drawn to the oil medium due to its vibrancy, and particularly savour how distinct colour pigments converge and meld as they are freshly applied onto canvas. The energy, experience and process of painting itself—each gesture, brush and knife stroke—is where I derive most gratification.

While I have found an affinity and affection for the human form, equally, I also find much joy and solace in spaces; my interpretations though oils and pastel onto the canvas tend to convey the emotions and poignancy of the moment.

I always sketch in colour--usually with oil pastels or with the paintbrush—interpreting monochromes or coloured subjects in my own vivid spectrum. However, I also enjoy painting with white-scale and paler spectrum of colours. My first and only exhibition Samplings in 2007 features these aspects of my works.

More recently, my paintings have become more gestural and abstract. I still focus on the process and experience of painting and allow the colours and knife to guide me when interpreting a subject matter. I am still interested in creating evocative, poignant pieces by imbuing vibrancy and movement to an otherwise static space or pose.

My art is where I expend my energy and pour my emotions when words are inadequate or inconsequential.
